           Summary: New project dialog: available languages restricted to
                    those of currently open project
           Product: kdevelop
           Version: 3.2.2
          Platform: Fedora RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdevelop-bugs kdevelop org
        ReportedBy: Alexander.Borghgraef pandora be

Version: 3.2.2 (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from:    Fedora RPMs
OS:                Linux

When I have a project open in kdevelop, and I open a "new project" dialog,
only the language of the currently opened project will be available. So if I'm
working on a Python project, and I start a new project, only the (closed) treeview
with Python templates will be visible in the "All projects" tab of the dialog.
 One thing which makes me think this is a bug, not a feature, is the fact that the
dotted line of the treeview at the level above the current language branch continues
down to the height of the lowest line of the branch, as if the other language branches
are still there but hidden. A bit vague, I know, so I'll try some ASCII art:

Closed:
|
+ Python
|

Open:
|
- Python
|   |_Python Qt application
|   |_Simple Python script
|   |_Simple Python/TkInter script

 I discussed this on the kdevelop web forum, and it was suggested that this was
a consequence of profiles, and that only the relevant profile would be loaded for
the current project. One suggestion was made that running "kdevelop --profile FullIDE"
would help, since FullIDE was the profile containing all of the others. I tried this
to no avail. FullIDE does exist in.kde/share/apps/kdevelop/profiles, and looks like this:

[Plugins]
Code Snippets=true
KDevAbbrev=true
KDevDocumentation=true
KDevFileSelector=true
KDevFilter=true
KDevGrepView=true
KDevKonsoleView=true
KDevOpenWith=true
KDevRegexpTest=true
KDevTextTools=true
KDevTools=true
KDevfilelist=true
KDevvalgrind=true
PartExplorer=true
ReplacePart=true

 This is not a very serious problem, it is easily solved by closing the current
project, and then opening the "new project" dialog, then all options are available
again. Still, it looks like a bug to me.
