           Summary: checking for expressions with side effects
           Product: kdevelop
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Compiled Sources
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdevelop-bugs kdevelop org
        ReportedBy: ghost cs msu su

Version:            (using KDE Devel)
Installed from:    Compiled sources

Attempt to evaluate an expression like

   *data++

will appear to work, but it will modify the variable 'data'. Given that it's very easy to select
and expression in the code and right_click->watch it, kdevelop probably should look for "++" and "--"
and issue a warning.

In general, we can't detect that an expression has side effects, but in some common cases it's possible.
