I am having a problem with selecting characters using the keyboard - only when the active editor is the "embedded advanced text editor". Whenever I hold down the SHIFT key, and try to select text using the arrow keys, nothing happens. (I can select text using the mouse, and I can use the SHIFT+arrow technique in other applications, such as "gedit"). The same bug exists in "kate" and "kwrite".
