Summary: KDevelop set to ignore external file changes by default
           Product: kdevelop
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: SuSE RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdevelop-bugs kdevelop org
        ReportedBy: per.angstrom autark se

Version: KDevelop 3.2.0 (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

After a fresh install, KDevelop 3.2.0 is set up to ignore external file changes. That \
is, in the Editor section of the configuration dialog, "On External Changes" is set \
to "Do nothing". This setting is dangerous and should not be default.

Additionally, the only reasonable option, "Alert the user", is greyed out and cannot \
be set.

These settings apply with the default suggested editor: "Embedded Advanced Text \
Editor". The other available editor, the Qt-designer based one, doesn't even offer a \
choice.
