For a backtrace, you could try to run KDevelop through gdb.

The last debug trace before the crash is from the python scripting plugin. Without a \
backtrace it's impossible to tell if it's responsible or not, but you could try \
disabling it. (It's an aged experimental plugin that shouldn't be turned on by \
default to begin with.)

For a quick test, delete/rename/move the 'kdevscripting.desktop' file. I don't know \
where Gentoo puts it, but a good guess is /usr/share/services/ or \
/usr/kde/3.3/share/services/
