Doesn't work IMHO. Why not? It does, but it is Ctrl-Alt-Fx to switch from a graphical console to another. If KDE is locked up really bad, try Ctrl-Alt-Backspace, that kills the X-Server (and, of course KDE). As last resort, read /usr/src/linux/Documentation/sysrq.txt, most distribution kernels are compiled with CONFIG_MAGIC_SYSRQ=yes: The combo Alt-SysRQ-k may kill X also and Alt-SysRQ-s, Alt-SysRQ-u, power off may shut down safely klaus PS: did anybody already mention, that working as root is dangerous? -- Klaus Muth HAGOS eG Industriestr. 62 fon: (+49) 711 78805-86 EDV-Programmierung 70565 Stuttgart fax: (+49) 711 78805-35 http://www.hagos.de Germany mailto:muth@hagos.de - to unsubscribe from this list send an email to kdevelop-request@kdevelop.org with the following body: unsubscribe »your-email-address«
