Did you try what the advice says?
    Build->Run Automake & Friends
followed by:
    Build->Configure
This prepares the automake system for the make command (F8).

Are you still running Gideon (= KDevelop 3.0 alpha)? Consider updating 
to KDevelop 3.0.2. It is stable!
