just a side note:
I tried https://kube-project.com/ some time ago, which worked quite
impressively then, without any akonadi* stuff whatsoever :)
it is, however, imap only.
plus, it currently only has caldav calendar integration, not all the other
pim suite that kontact offers.

Thanks, I only need IMAP and no calenders or other stuff. How come they don't
have a link for the source?
