you do not even need to uninstall kmail from kde4 oder kf5.
the trinity version lives in /opt/trinity and uses ~/.tde for its own=20=

configuration.
there is no interference with ~/.kde4 ~/.local ~/.config or whatever
kde4/kf5 use.
just be sure to have some env variables set, which trinity uses (TDEDIR=
...)
