Yes, and no :) The ps command was to see if you have 2 mysqld processes running, but of course I should have asked you to do an akonadictl stop first. Was akonadi running when you did the ps command above? If it was NOT, you should try to kill the mysqld process that's yours (pid 5173 I guess), and try to start akonadi, because in that case the error message about not being able to lock the database was correct. As to the file contents: it shows that your file doesn't consist of only zeroes. However you left out a large chunk from the start. BTW, even if those are octal numbers, they're huge. If I'm not mistaken the part you show starts at about 464Mb into the database ... just how large is it?
