Try going to Kmail settings.

Open Configure Kmail.

Go to Accounts and Receiving. Choose the account that is misbehaving.
Highlight that identity and either double click or choose Modify.

Go to the Advanced tab. Make sure that there is an entry in the Trash folder
option.

In addition if you experience prolonged cycles where the status bar in the
lower right indicates "moving"

Go to Kmail's settings, open Configure Kmail and this time go to Identities.
Again double click or choose Modify.

Once again go the Advanced tab and make sure there are valid folders in the
options for Sent, Drafts and Templates.

I am experiencing a continuous re-entry for all of my IMAP accounts. This can
happen at the beginning of the day or anytime during the day. Something is
happening where these settings are either re-set, deleted or never saved when
I exit Kontact/Kmail.

Running OpenSuSE 12.1 64bit, KDE 4.9.2
