Just a thought -

When I tried KMail 2 I found that all messages that I hadn't read were
being duplicated with every fetch, until I read them.  Thinking about
this, IIRC, for IMAP to function absolutely correctly, the server sends
you all unread messages, which would explain this.  Perhaps KMail 2 is
more literally obeying the rules in the request, and the ISP therefore
responding literally.

Could be totally off-beam, of course :-)
