Any and all help is greatly appreciated. When you get the Akonadi Self Test dialog, click on the error indications. = =20 When you do, the bottom of the dialog will indicates some suggestions,=20 including a link to the userbase page with excellent troubleshooting tips. I suggest that you go through them one at a time and try launching kmail=20 again. Some of the tips solve multiple problems. As I observe it, akonadi seems fine. I assume it works great on fresh=20 installs. It is the upgrade which was not handled well. Most of us who=20 frequent this and similar lists should be able to work through getting it=20 working. I pity the poor non-technical user, though. A final release will= =20 inevitably have unforeseen bugs, but it should mostly work out of the box=20 before it loses its pre-beta designation. Perhaps that's why kmail still doesn't use akonadi; unlike some other=20 projects, I suppose they wanted to get it right before releasing it. =2D-=20 Art Alexion --nextPart39722485.v8H06LTUVe Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) iJwEAAECAAYFAkvCBSUACgkQQsb+hggjRi47YAP/csH8ylsqr/+Efejswqx3fSOQ swLLOofebGWT8z3pXTXPI0hkVIfKlazeyPOgM90Cln90LDnUDPToFnY6/typTpIh dcIZTjyWKTtpD6Bbs/BhphbwJyAxvKMAK+ODJBBrtlJ804Nx9P/0GCHDgru1UGhO 6LGcfJ+onTHK42NJMjA= =gEuX -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --nextPart39722485.v8H06LTUVe-- --===============0333140696== Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline _______________________________________________ KDE PIM users mailing list kdepim-users@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-users --===============0333140696==--
