Today at work I am running Ubuntu 9.10, and I just updated to KDE 4.4.00 (KDE 4.4.0) \
including Kmail 1.13.0 on Xfce 4.6.

I am using the same servers with the same setup and I am not suffering from the \
delays. Mails are sent immediately, even though this machine is much slower than my \
PC at home (therefore XFCE). The mail window does not go grey and Kontact is not \
stalled. Might really be a Fedora/Suse issue, then ... My version of the kdepim \
package is 4.4.0-0ubuntu1~karmic1~ppa2, Kwallet is also running.

I'll do some testing on this machine with SSL/TLS (and KDE4 instead of Xfce) this \
evening, and I'll keep you updated about the results.
