I think this is a recent regression.  I've had this bug in Ubuntu Fesity 
and Gutsy.  On my older Dapper box, it never happened, but of course, I 
never let feeds remain unread that long on my work (Dapper) box.

This happens often.  I don't know the pattern: I'll go into a feed I 
haven't read for a while, and some of the articles will be marked read, 
some of them won't.  Sorry I can't be any more specific than that.
