Well, that's just what I had in mind. I have already found a freeware
multiplatform file splitter app (HJ-Split http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/)
that can join "chunks" of a file created with split (linux split that is)
named xxx.000, xxx.001 etc.
The drawback is that
a. if the recipient is not a linux user, he has to install that program, and
b. in any case he has to join the attached file manually.
It will work, but it's just a workaround, and surely not an enjoyable
experience for the recipient of the email message...
Is there a chance to see kmail support message/partial (RFC 2046, not 2045 as
incorrectly stated in my previous post)?
BTW can kmail read such a message? I don't believe so, but it doesn't hurt to
ask :)
