By moving the whole=20 ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/ directory to my desktop I knew I could recover=20 anything that was important. KMail regenerated everything, and as far as I= =20 can see the only thing I lost was my customisations to the toolbar. No big= =20 deal :-) I can't say that I understand the script but I did try it on the moved fold= er. =20 It returned '.sent-mail.index.ids:2'. That's interesting, because when I=20 have met the old problem of corrupted indexes causing lost messages that ha= s=20 usually involved the sent-mail folder. Also, having deleted the index file= s=20 once, they must have been generated then corrupted again very quickly. =20 That's worrying. I don't know whether its relevant, but since it happened at the same time I= =20 should mention it, starting kde on that laptop is now taking a very long=20 time.
