I recently discovered kaddressbook and found that it seems to be the
perfect application for my purpose: Editing individual .vcf files.  The
only major disadvantage is that it depends on KDE bloat - but I can live
with that.

What I find annoying, though, is that whenever I save a .vcf file, a
.vcf_4 file is created which seems to be some kind of backup file.  How
do I disable the creation of these backup files?  Also OK would be to
have the backup files stored in a different directory, e.g. under /tmp/.
