I also tried a "System Reset" as documented in the Treo manual... I'm not really sure what the difference is, but neither worked. I was contemplating a hard reset, but then I'll lose all my data on the Pilot, and since I can't resynchronize it, then I'd have absolutely no contacts on the pilot (which is the most important part for me...)
