That's easy.  If I am getting back into a thread on Monday morning (I rarely 
read my mail & news on the weekend), there may be half a dozen new posts in a 
thread I've been following.  If people actually only quoted the parts 
relevant to their own response, then I'd definitely want to read them in 
order, but in well over half the threads I'll read, the last message will 
contaiin everything I need.
