[Probably a better question on -users] Just .. start it? By default KOrganizer 
comes up with today in the date view. Alternatively, you can use DCOP (say, 
from the boot-up sequence or something) to change to today:

dcop korganizer CalendarIface 'goDate(QString)' `date '+%Y-%m-%d'`
