I have a working ldap server, and am trying to get kontact (kaddressbook) to
work with it. When I go to add an ldap host, the Bind DN field is greyed out.
I am using simple authentication, no security (private network, making sure
the basics work first!).

But instead of it working, I get an invalid dn syntax from the server. Looking
at the slapd logs, of course the error is correct. The problem is that
according to slapd, it is only getting the username as the DN. Naturally,
this is incorrect:
"slapd[25284]: bind: invalid dn (Manager)"

Connection to server and basic query seems to be working as I can click the
"Query Server" on th DN: entry and get a decent looking response.

How do I get it to send the correct Bind DN? It also does not show a correct
URL in the error message. I'm assuming attachments are stripped, so if anyone
wants a screenshot of the error, I'd be happy to post it somewhere (or here
if allowed - it would just be the error dialog). Or is it just a bug? ;) If so
I'll definitely go through the bugs.kde.org interface.

BTW, if I bind anonymously and read-only I can see the entries. But naturally,
I want to add new ones. :)

Cheers,
Bill
