I have been using Kmail for quite some time, and have many messages
that i want to keep as i upgrade from kmail-1.7 to kmail-1.8.2.

The straightforward solution of copying the Mail directory did not
work. My conclusion is that the mail records are incompatible with the
previous version.

The menu item "tools->import messages" include options to import
messages from many mail readers but not from previous versions of
kmail itself.

The question is: How can i retrieve my stored mail from kmail-1.7 to
kmail-1.8.2?
