A responsible attitude, IMO. I can only tell you what I do. First, I install
PopFile, which uses Bayesian filtering to sort spam. You have to train it
rigorously for a day or two, but then it is very efficient. I create, in
KMail one folder called ZZ_Junk and one called ZZ-Virused (the ZZ is just to
put them at the bottom of my folder list). A KMail filter intercepts any
mail that has the PopFile spam tag and puts it into the junk folder. Another
'bucket' is created in POPFile for viruses. I found that I had to manually
train it on 4 or 5 virused messages received, and it hasn't missed one since,
The advantage of this is that it can be set to quarantine the suspect
message. You can examine it safely and then delete it when you are assured.

If you are interested in trying this method you will find much more about it
at http://mandrake.vmlinuz.ca/bin/view/Main/PopFile. There is a good mailing
list available for more specific help, if you need it.

I have used the combination of PopFile and KMail for almost 2 years now, and
find it exceptionally good. It's easy to set up, and is cross-platform, so
you could have your viruses quarantined in your windows boxes as well.
