KMail 1.6.1
KDE 3.2 BRANCH 20040204
Mandrake RPM's

Woke up with a weird problem this morning: KMail wouldn't even start (sig 11
on startup). Big problem when it is my primary e-mail client. Well, I
started copy, deleting, etc, and tracked it down to a bunch
if .mailbox.index.* files that seem to have gotten corrupted. Here's the
scenario:
1. All these indexes are in one folder
2. After much copying (and leaving these indexes out) I could get KMail to
start
3. If I delete all these indexes, everything works fine.
4. After some fidling, I could copy these index back in and kmail would still
start.
5. BUT trying to open just about *any* folder, not just the affected/corrupted
ones, would cause KMail to crash with the message below (same message as when
it would crash on startup.
[joshua@47-254 ~]$ QGArray::at: Absolute index 0 out of range
*** KMail got signal 11 (Crashing)
KCrash: Application 'kmail' crashing...
So, my question is: who want the tar ball of that folder. I still have all my
original folders (although I'm a little hesitent to send that in), but I
could send you the folders that were causing KMail to crash (about 16MB
uncompressed), since it is all non-personal communication (oddly enough, it's
all University communication).
Any takers?
