Well, based on your experiences I've gon and added an extra "Warning:" message 
to the sync log KPilot shows, so that people are forewarned. I'm going to go 
and spend a bunch of time now on specifically getting just backup and restore 
working optimally (or as optimal as I can get it).

And always remember and never forget:
1) Find bug
2) Write patch
3) Profit!! (actually, we all do)
