KPilot 4.3.10 (BRANCH)
pilot-link 0.11.8
KDE 3.1.3
Qt 3.1.2

It seems to be syncing fine now - I suspect that it was because my batteries
went flat - fresh batteries and it was fine. However, in order to sync a
second time I have to log out and log in again because otherwise KPilot wont
run.

I have been able to install a file to my palm (an ebook) without trouble.

<SNIP>
For some strange reason I can't see my Schedule (calendar) and my To Do List
in the same application at the same time. It seems that KOrganizer has
divided itself into 2 separate applications.
</SNIP>
I have sorted this out - I understand what is happening here now.

There are a few things about KPilot/KOrganizer that I don't like:
1. I have alarms ringing off on my desktop computer that are not ringing off
on my Palm (on the Palm the category is turned off). (In case it is relevant
I use DateBk5 v-5.0a)
2. The categories I use on my Palm are not automatically picked up by
KOrganizer.
3. When I synced just now I discovered that the calendar on my Palm has been
mucked up with entries put on every day that were repeated for a week or so
over a year ago. They showed up today.
4. The hotsync takes a lot longer under Linux Mandrake 9.2 than it does
under Windows XP Pro.

Note - serial speed settings are the same in both OS's - 115200bps
The purpose for showing these times is not to bash Linux (in case anyone
thinks that). It is to see if anyone can spot something that I can change to
speed things up under Linux.

To try to ensure a fair time comparison, I made sure that the only thing
different was the addition of one entry in Datebk.

Linux - about 8mins to complete the hotsync (7mins just to hotsync datebk)

I'd appreciate it if someone could take the time to address some of these
points to help me get my setup under Linux running better.

thanks
