At least, one of the unusual things that Neo does is to have more than Tab and
Reverse-Tab on that key.  In particular, on layer 3, the tab key has the
"Compose"(!) function, i.e. it allows you to press [Mod3]+[Tab], [`], [a] and
you'll get "Ã ".  Now, [Mod3] is exactly [Alt] (also remapped to the CapsLock
key), so these are interesting facts I think.

On the other hand, that is no proof about the relatedness of the two bugs yet,
agreed.
