Is there by any chance a limit on the number of simuntaneous connections you
can have the server you are trying to copy from? That is the only question I
did not ask so far. Anyways, can you please follow the instructions to obtain
the debug output from kio_http from the link below and post the results here:

Be sure to remove any personally identifying information from the generated
output like authorization information etc.
