I can confirm the problem with KDE 4.4.2 from mandriva. 
I can see the first suspend msg and a few seconds later the system sleeps (no
wait for 15 seconds as declared in the msg).

After the wakeup I can see in the notify area the suspend notify 
and a few seconds later the system go to sleep again.

If I use the sleep key on the keyboard the system works fine.

There is some significant log file I can attach?

samsung X520, processor U7300
