Hi!

Since we will be moving over to Subversion sooner or later, we might take
the opportunity to move the structure of the websites in the repository
to new, more logical places.

Currently we have:

www - http://www.kde.org
www/areas/* - subproject sites (e.g. multimedia, usability, accessibility)
www/apps/* - application sites
www/international/* - localised sites
developer.kde.org - http://developer.kde.org
bugs - http://bugs.kde.org
www/media - media directory to be used by most subsites

Additionally, we have the inconsistency that some of subsites in don't
have their own subdomains (e.g. areas/kde-ev and apps/cervisia), or have
a redirect away from subdomain, rather than to it (e.g. multimedia).

The current layout has the big disadvantage that checking out the whole of
www.kde.org needs to be done manually folder-by-folder if you don't wish
to also checkout all subdomains.

I therefore suggest the following structure in subversion:

websites/www - http://www.kde.org
websites/* - subproject sites (e.g. multimedia, usability, accessibility)
websites/developer - http://developer.kde.org
websites/bugs - http://bugs.kde.org
websites/apps/* - application sites
websites/international/* - localised sites
websites/media - media directory to be used by most subsites

This implies that we have a subdomain *.kde.org for every subsite and a
redirect from the old location to the subdomain.

Comments?

Olaf
