Would it be possible to put up a page saying as much (it is heavily linked
from all over the place).

Also (since Karbon != Kontour) would it be possible to provide a location
where the material can be found? --other than dragging it out of Google's
cache.  There would then be the option to point people to that location.

Putting *something* would be helpful (and prevent any further email such as
this! :-), perhaps the remaining developer material: ?
