I have installed KDE on my Windows Vista laptop, using
kdewin-installer-gui-0.9.5-0.exe, which I believe is the latest.

Is there a later kdewin-installer?

Then I tried to use KWord, which didn't save files in a proper format. So I
filed a bug. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=189692

The respons was that I was using a 6 months old application; the bug was
already fixed (at least on Linux). The application is KWord 2.0 beta-3,
using KDE 4.2.2.

What should I do to keep my installation updated? At least the programs must
be new enough to be useful to report bugs on. Is kdewin-installer-gui the
wrong tool for this, or have I used it in the wrong way? It seems to me,
that it doesn't list programs that are installed and up-to-date. Is it
possible to uninstall programs from this tool?

How will I know when there is a new release of the installer itself?

Kind regards,
Helge Stenström
