I enabled the desktop kioslave on trunk some months ago, but I forgot
to do it on 4.1 too
btw the kioslave uses KGlobalSettings::desktopPath that uses
QDesktopServices::storageLocation( QDesktopServices::DesktopLocation )
so there is no need to change anything :)
