hi, 

i hope that this question is ok here & you are willing to help me. i 
would be thankful. 

i am quite new to linux, a few weeks ago i installed suse 7.2 
professional, staying with kde as my main desktop. since a few days i 
have a problem i cannot figure out: within programmes that i believe to 
be x-programmes (such as opera, netscape, xterm) the fonts are either 
hardly readable (looking like a jpg displayed with a wrong resolution) 
or completely undecipherable. all this happened since i went through 
the kcontrol (i am using the german translation, sorry i have to guess 
the english name) & tried out this & the other configuration. as i 
said: i did nothing else, just trying out the control. 
i mainly fiddled aroung with country & language.

did anybody have this problem, too? 

as i am by no means experienced yet i do no longer know where to check. 
but in netscape _all_ the menus are completely unreadable, in opera i 
can guess. when i ran kmail inside gnome i had the same problem with 
the mail body while it is alright in kde.
