Hi Gaddy!

As much I would like to help you, I have to introduce you to another aspect
of mailing-list help.

To keep traffic as small as possible (and, for a dial-up user, kde-user
traffic is already high enough) and to keep the list itself possible to
follow, mailing lists are topic-centered. This mailing list is all about kde.

E.g. your problem with the lines across the screen is a problem that appears
in kde, but actually is not a kde problem. So pointing out to you that you
need a newer version of X is within the scope of this mailing list. But it
ends here. Help on "how do I install X" or other X questions can be asked in
the appropriate x mailing lists, but is not within the scope of this list.

So, Gaddy, please re-post your question on a list centered around modems
under linux. If it then works w/another application, but you have problems
getting it run in KDialer (just an example), you're welcome to ask them here
:-)

I hope you're not disappointed; somehow you have to keep this huge community
organized. I'm sorry I can't point you to a correct mailing list, I don't
have any experience in that area. Try Google http://www.google.com

Greets.

Anno.
