I've been compiling off of cvs for months with Slackware 7.1~7.2
hybrid. You may need to upgrade a few packages if you plan on
compiling yourself, which I highly suggest if you have a decent
system. Binaries are available on the Slackware ftp site or mirror
if you don't want to mess with compilation. I have no idea what was
said about KDE not working with Slack, where did you see that?

best of luck,
Randy.
