X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=kde-user&m=99115276120819 hello list, my uptime now ist some 26 hours, an i haven't worked really much on my machine, but nevertheless, it seems as if the amount of Ram X consumes rises by about 5 MB per day. whenever i start an application (window), the memory used by X goes up, but after closing the window, all memory is freed again. so far totally normal. the strange behaviour is as follows: the minimum Memory amount X consumes rises in steps of about 100-200 kb, summarizing up to 5 Meg per day. a newly started X server uses about 50 MB, now (after 26 hours) i am at about 56-58 MB. i said before, some weeks ago, i noticed about 150 mb (after about a week or more uptime) if i restart X, i'm back at 50 MB. this definitely only happens when I'm running kde. i am running a "top | grep" all the time now, trying to find out which process doesn't free all the memory after closing it, but i haven't found out yet. 485 root 13 0 58576 41M 5492 R 1.5 33.5 91:29 X sorry if i am arguing like a newbie, but thanks to all the listeners! any ideas ? markus Am Donnerstag 24 Mai 2001 15:03 schrieb David E.
