Which JDK are you using?  According to the HOWTO:

http://www.konqueror.org/konq-java.html

You need a newer version and SUN doesn't work.

However, I am using:

jre-1.3-11.i386.rpm

Which works OK.

Get it from:

 http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/openlinux/ltp//col/install/RPMS//jre-1.3-11.i386.html
