I've been running KDE 2.1.1 for about a week under SuSE Linux 7.1 and X 4.0.2, with KDM as my login manager. After installing X4.0.3 yesterday, KDM ceased working; when I boot up, I get to a shell prompt instead (and yes, the runlevel has been set to 5). I have the same problem with XDM. Here's a big clue: if I type kdm --nodaemon I get the message: Error while loading shared libraries: kdm: undefined symbol XdmcpWrapperToOddParity I get the same message from xdm -debug 1 (except that it refers to xdm, not kdm). Does anyone have a clue as to what I'm missing?
