I am experiencing HEAVY problems with KDE 2.1.1 and Debian 2.2r2:

I installed the newest packages from kde.tdyc.org for KDE 2.1.1. I am running
Kernel 2.2.18 and XFree 3.3.6 (from Debian 2.2.r2).

Since the update I have the following problem: When the computer starts kdm,
I can move the mouese and type my login and password. Now the login screen
vanishes gets blue and starts kdm again. If I try to move the mouse now, the
system HANGS completly. Only a hard reset gets me back into the system.

Working on the console directly after a reboot, works fine, but as soon as
kdm "gets too much time", the system crashes !!!!!

The .xsession-errors file does not show any useful hints, except "Bad Drwaing
errors".

Does anybody have any suggestions ??
Astonishingly on my laptop with exactly the same software (but not upgraded
over time from Debian 2.1 to 2.2) KDE 2.1.1 works flawlessly !!!
-> So I suspect any KDE setup/startup files ??

Please help! I do not know how to restore my system !!!

Thank You !

Peter Biechele
