In order to KControl work properly in LM 7.2 I had to delete some of the
menu entries that Mandrake RPMS installed. They
as well as KDE ones are in /usr/share/applnk. Like you, I did not see any
modules in Control Center, but after deleting configuration -directory
(or similar) it worked just fine. Be sure
not to delete the one KDE installed. The directory that Mandrake installed
has a lot other stuff besides KDE control modules.

You could move that directory somewhere else, so you can restore menu
entries
that you would find useful.
