I think this has something to do with localisation. I bet you use another
language than english. Change to english in 
K-menu/Settings/KDE/Personalization. Your language should be installed
from sources, I did this myself and now it works. I needed to copy locales
to right directory, though. 

If I did not guess right, forget this.
