hi,

i've been trying for some time to install KDE2 beta and the final release
onto my system. i had it running on an old suse system some months ago and
was well impressed hence i want to get the final release working on my
current system......

i am using the rpm packages from the mandrake cooker.

the problem i am having is that of dependancies!
the main one being with RPM3.... i think it's menu that requires this but
rpm itself requires a newer version of menu (bit of a chicken and the egg
senario! :-)

i have noticed, however, that several people are installing libmng....
it is not available on the mandrake cooker(rpmfind.net)..... do i need
it.... will it help resolve dependancies? do i force the installation of rpm
and menu with nodeps?

i've bust the system no end of times. does anyone have a difinative guide to
installing on mandrake7.1...... if i can resolve the problem, i'll do it
myself, i just need a little help in the process....:-)
