Hi listers,

I just comiled and installed KDE and it look very good. There is two things
that seems to not work though.

When I try to use a background image on my root desktop or in any other way,
the changes don't occur. I tried using a default picture from the choice given
or any picture I have on my box with the same result. Any ideas why it does
that?

Secondly, when I try to use a theme, the panel where the themes are displayed
kind of 'flashes' on, then disappears to show me the KDE Control Center screen.
That's all it does.

I've got:

Debian 2.2 (woody)
All base packages (which compiled fine)
The minimum requierements are met too.
I have enabled --with-pam=yes when I compiled the kdebase so I could use the
screen savers.

Well, that's all I can think of as of relevant information.

Any answer/pointer or ideas are welcome.
