just wondering..my system still has the (1.2pre) versions of most libraries etc.

it seems when I try to upgrade those through gnoRPM that my system, while still available through
desktop no longers responds to any attempt to start any app incl. the console..........

what steps am i missing to upgrade to the new ones or is it that imust upgrade to new kernel/6.1/6.2
etc...
