Not to wax philosphical but I'd like to think problems can be solved without M$
but in this case your probably right.  :~)

Now back to my original problem........I think my sound card (Ensoniq
SoundScape VIVO90) is plug-n-play. I'm about ready to chuck the card and get
one thats Linux friendly.
