I used the versions about to be shipped in RH6.0.  I found them at
ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/redhat/redhat-6.0/i386/RedHat/RPMS/

The pnglib is 1.0.3-2.  The zlib was 1.1.3-5.  I hope this helps.
