I was pleased to see that KDat was included in the 1.1 preview but I am
having a problem. After KDat estimates the backup I receive the error
message "Cannot get to end of tape." The tape appeared to mount properly and
had been formatted with KDat. I have been able to use the tape drive and
tape with tar but I very much want to use a GUI program.

Other info: I have a Seagate 3200 tape drive running off the floppy
controller. I am using a Travan TR-3 tape identified in KDat as 1600MB. I
understand the KDat format is not a full tape format. I checked Help but
error messages do not appear to be covered. I left the tape block size at
the default of 10240. The tape device is /dev/ftape.

Thanks for any input,
Ken Swinton
