Dear KDE Users,

After successfully starting KDE, neither starts automatically any
program defined by the ~/Desktop/*.kdelnk files, nor can be started
manually any program shown in the menu popping up when clicking on the
"K" icon in the lower left edge of the task bar. So, the only operation
I can perform is shutting down KDE.

In the following listing produced by startx, I have marked normal
messages with a minus sign, error messages with an asterisk and my
comments with a plus sign.

I would like to know how I can force the PID to be read, the PF_UNIX
domain server socket to be constructed and the shared talk key file and
the media connection to be created.

Any help would be welcome.

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Wolfgang Müller
